Taking a Lateral Approach to Learning
We use the analogy of the pilot to explain how we approach training new learners in the use of technological tools. Would you rather get on the plane with the pilot who has flown the plane for ten years or would rather get on the plane with the pilot who has read about flying for ten years?
If the plane begins to descend for an unknown reason, the pilot who has read about flying will follow the checklist from the book they read in a convergent thinking approach; however, the pilot who has flown planes for ten years will rely upon a combination of both divergent and convergent thinking known as lateral thinking.
Practical application of learning and training requires a combination of many “variables” all at once when it comes to designing an effective program. Are the actual outcome metrics measuring up to the the predicted outcome of the overall design? This is one of those situations where the science of predictive metrics can far overshoot the baseline targets of learning.
The practical application of technology is our approach to the customization and development of technical training. Our technological training development is based upon years of teaching technology to students from zero to accelerated levels of technological knowledge. Our intent is focused upon knowledge retention versus knowledge overload.
We accept all new interested partners when it comes to designing training programs because honestly, it is not a job or project to do something you love.
Please feel free to contact us below to setup a meeting to discuss training further.
